What is Freedom’s Answer?
Freedom’s Answer
is a movement led by high school students to produce votes. Many
of us are suspicious about politics because politicians don’t
listen. They don’t listen because they think we have no power.
We’re changing that.
In 2004, we want 2.5 million students like you and me to ask 10
people to vote. 25 million votes will get the attention of every
politician in the country. We’ll earn a seat at the table.
25 million votes is about as empowering as you can get. And along
the way, we’ll start pulling people back into the system.
People who believe their participation can make America a better
place.
Why Freedom’s Answer?
Research tells us students are less likely to vote. Pundits tell
us we’re apathetic.
The truth? We’re just cynical. Jaded by negative ads, shouting
matches on TV, and politicians that seem to say everything but the
truth.
We’re fighting back. We’re too important to be overlooked.
Right now students across the country are planning the largest voter
turnout drive in history.
We’ve got a little experience from our 2002 successes, when
we started the program in 2,500 high schools. The results were so
stunning we wrote a book
about it. In the fall months leading up to the last election,
we discovered the impact kids too young to vote, but old enough
to lead, can have on their community, state and nation. We hope
you’ll read about our 2004 Action Plan
and join the thousands of teens leading this student movement.
*What Else Can You Do?*
Talk to students.
Blog on student related sites.
Use social networking sites to ask people to vote.
Use political signs
Print flyers.
Take action. Now!
Learning how to use political signs is easy, helping you spread the word of your campaign to registered voters. If you are committed to just registering voters so that everyone votes, a simple, "Register to Vote Here," sign will work great. If you are representing a political party, you may want to modify your signage to read, " Republicans / Democrats/ Tea Party / Independents / Green Party - Register to Vote Here,"
Of course, if your message is too political, you may not be able to post your sign on your high school campus. Be sure to receive permission first.
Ways to Use Political Signs
Political signs can be put up in any variety of places, both physical and virtual. Use political signs in the normal areas, as in the sides of busy roads and by places where people frequent businesses and restaurants. But you will also want to convert your message to electronic form and promote your political message on social media pages and in places like Facebook and Twitter. The more people you can reach with your political signs and your campaign message, the more likely you are to stand out from the other candidates.
